Who is the Moody Chef?

The Moody Chef, St Leonards opened its doors in October 2004. From this time the business has grown to become a multiple award winning establishment that is now St Leonards’ leading Café / Restaurant.

It was February 2002 when Geoff Moody met George Dannaoui. George was a busy café owner in need of a chef, and Geoff a hard working chef in need of a café owner. Together, they grilled and garnished countless breakfasts in the little North Bondi eatery.

Along the way they became good mates, and discovered that they both shared a passion for fresh, healthy food and a vibrant, energetic workplace.

They were pretty sure that others would like their eggs on the energetic side and their lattes a little light-hearted so Geoff and George decided to translate their philosophy into a business partnership and on 18 October 2004, The Moody Chef was born.
